♥ Ouch!!!
Seem like my gum is still bleeding.... Grrhhh.... I Had removed the gauze earlier, coz it seems to make my gum bleed more?
Arghhh.... Finally done with my wisdom tooth extraction and surgery! hmm.... Quite scary though... Am so glad the whole saga is over!!!
I was really scared! =S All I do is LISTEN and do according to the dentist's instruction. The injection of the anesthetic wasn't that painful or bad as I have imagined. The credit probably goes to the "holy spray" by the dentist into my gum area (to numb the gum) prior to the injection, hence the pain is really like"ant's bites"- as described by my friends (I asked around before going for my surgery, call me KS whatever you want but I certainly am not going to a surgery without prepare or not knowing the procedure etc... ).
The numbness was..... it just felt as though your lips is swollen like a big sausage? Yeah, that's how I felt. hahaha... Of course, no change in shape but just the feeling. After checking on the effect of the anesthetic, and putting a (I have no idea what's the actual term for it) cloth to cover my eyes, the dentist started the job on removing the decay wisdom tooth. When he was about to begin, I was SO nervous!! I was holding on to my fingers tightly, shut my eyes, and started praying. Well, after a few pushing and pressure, I can feel the nerve can the discomfort. Pointed that out, and more injection was given to me.... What to do, my nerve is very close to the root, and I think is quite sensitive. Cause, the disruption was felt and it trigger a slight headache. Dohz... I was really scared cause, I can feel the discomfort of the nerve along my jaw line and the headache associated with it. I didn't want to think too much into it at that moment cause its really scary to link the two things together, and therefore I pray even HARDER!
The sounds of the drilling...... was LOUD and clear! But my mouth and gum was so numb that all I felt was the drilling and the vibration by it. I think it took about 40 min to removed it completely? After the breaking up of the tooth, extracting out first half follow by the second half , then the root and finally the stitches. Grrhhh.... when the stitching was done, I really feel like telling the dentist : "Can I not remove the upper one?" I think the whole drama was really enough for me already. But, I didn't.
Second half of the drama - removing my healthy upper wisdom tooth. Yup, it was rather fast, a few spray of the "holy spray", 3 jabs on the top, and normal extraction - pulling and pushing and exerting of pressure. 5 - 10 min, its out! Was told to bite to the gauze tightly to prevent the bleeding, but my mouth was so numb I really have no idea I am biting tightly or not. -__- I just bite.
Looking at what was removed from me.... the decay tooth in 2 parts and small pieces of it from the drilling and whatever. Then the perfect nice upper wisdom tooth. When he showed me, he even asked if I wanna keep it. "It was very pretty, no decay at all etc..." Yeah, I agreed it look nice but NO. No thanks. I juz shake my finger - A "no" to him. Wanted to say more : "it's ok I can donate to you to tell other how a wisdom tooth looks like" Of course, I didn't - cant really talk with the gauze on my mouth. Went to the toilet straight after leaving the horrible room... super high tide (probably I was so scared? Ha! )
Took a cab home and pop in the pain killer IMMEDIATELY! Yes, I am KS. I aren't going to wait till the pain came then start taking, it will be too late for it to take effect. After my friend told me how painful it was for her when the anesthetic effect wear off soon after the surgery, it's really scary. Luckily for me, the dentist was quite good. My lips was still numb when I reached home, and I cant feel a thing for my whole right side. Lay on the bed and resting... I think I gave a thumb up for my dentist, the anesthetic effect goes off at 4 pm!!!! WoW!!!! Probably I was given quite a lot of injections earlier =P
Okay... now is time for my porridge supper... haha... no choice, I needa take antibiotic. Keep my finger cross - no more bleeding please!!! Btw, came across this website on wisdom tooth surgery, anyone going for wisdom can read up on it, quite useful though.
